Trendjetting and Trandsetting
The iF trend conference will live up to its name: it is about exploring, highlighting and discussing trends. And, last but not least, it is also about setting trends. The goal is to think in new ways, to uncover hidden potential and, by doing so, to advance design. Experts and creatives from all over the world will come together each year to do just this. The first iF trend conference will take place during Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW). The conference will be held in English. Registration for the iF trend conference 2012 is now open and will be translated simultaneously.
Organizers: iF International Forum Design GmbH in cooperation with Trendbuero Hamburg
Ticket prices: EUR 480 (early bird) if you register no later than 19 August 2011
EUR 780 (regular) until 11 November 2011
participants: max. 200
The theme of the 2012 iF trend conference is: Al(l)-go-rithm: all goes algorithm. We want to focus on something we use intuitively, but have not yet used to its full capacity: computer and networking technologies or, in other words - the algorithmic processes that form the DNA of our networked Internet society
Three high-profile speakers from the UK, the USA and Japan will analyze the central conference theme from different perspectives and points of enquiry. Conrad Wolfram, a computer technologist from the UK, focuses on finding new uses for mathematical technologies outside of pure computation. Wolfram will speak about 'Thinking Things by Semantic Intelligence'. Tad Toulis, creative director of the Teague design studio and columnist at Core77, will introduce 'Collaborative Creation by Open Innovation' and Tetsuya Mizuguchi, one of the world's leading video game designers, will give a talk on 'Intuitive Perception by Multi-Sensual Interaction'.
