The Biennial of Industrial Design is an international design exhibition that highlights current trends in contemporary design through its selection of well-designed products with an emphasis on quality, originality, innovation, and sustainability. Every two years since 1964, thousands of renowned designers, commissioners and producers from more than 50 counties from around the world have presented their best works at this acknowledged international design exhibition in Ljubljana , Slovenia.

The Architecture Museum of Ljubljana/BIO Secretariat has launched a call for submissions for the exhibition – the deadline is 12 April 2010 – and in May nine international design experts composing a Selection Committee will choose the best works that will be exhibit on BIO 22 main exhibition during the period of 7 October to 7 November 2010 in Ljubljana . At the exhibition the selection of design achievements from around the world will be presented in three groups: A. Products, B. Product graphics and information design, and C. Concepts.

Before the opening, the exhibits will be examined once more by prestigious International Jury, who will decide on the BIO Design Awards. The awards will be presented at the grand opening ceremony on 7 October 2010. Our event is followed by strong international media publicity, high visitors’ attendance from all over the world and numerous design events in the period of one month.
