The fourth edition of the International Design Festival, DesignFest ‘10, will be held in Expo Guadalajara from Thursday, September 30 through Saturday, October 2, 2010. This event will gather prominent personalities and design firms.

Under the motto "Redesign your World", the festival which is organized by the magazine REDiseño will consist of a total of 12 conferences about design. This year DesignFest offers a panel of designers from 7 different countries: Italy, Spain, Argentina, India, Japan, United States and Mexico.

Some of the distinguished conferencists will include Italian Lucca Borgogno, Senior Designer of Pininfarina; the Italian Gabriele Schiavon and his Spanish associate Gerard Sanmartí; and the Argentinean's Adrián Pierini, Christian Montenegro and Sebastián Guerrini. The designer Ashwini Deshpande, will be traveling from India; Industrial Designer Nosinger from Japan; and Typographic Designer Jessica Hische from New York. Mexico will be represente by jewelry designer Alejandra Aceves and Interior Designer Ezequiel Farca.

DesignFest 2010 will also offer a Mexican Fiesta; runways for the fashion design competition Rock, Paper, Scissors; entrance to ExpoDiseño, a simultaneous event in where more than 130 promoters of design such as multimedia design firms, interior and lighting design stores, fashion design and companies of new technologies in graphic communication, will present their work and services; and four 5-hour workshops for twenty attendees each in where, international designers will share their experience in the development of professional design projects.

With over 14 thousand attendees through its past three editions, DesignFest 2010 offers a panel of designers from 7 different countries: Italy, Spain, Argentina, India, Japan, United States and Mexico.

This year DesignFest is undoubtedly characterized by its international presence. We will count with the participation ofItalianGabriele Schiavon and SpanishGerard Sanmartí, partners of the firmLa Granja Design.Schiavon and Sanmartí, who have recently presented their projects for Product, Lighting, and Interior Design at the Milan Fair, will be showcasing them at DesignFest.Also joining us from Italy and informing us about new trends in Automotive Design, will be experienced Luca Borgogno,current Senior Designer for Pininfarina.

Other worldwide proponents are the Argentinean designers, Adrián Pierini (Strategic Design), Christian Montenegro andSebastián Guerrini (Brand and Illustration Design);IndiandesignerAshwini Deshpande, member of the firm Elephant Design; Japanese Industrial designer Nosigner;andTypographic DesignerJessica Hische from New York.

Alejandra Aceves and Ezequiel Farca will be representing Mexico. Fashion Designer Alejandra Aceves, who was a finalist of Swarovski's 2008 Design ContestCRYSTALLIZED and was recently invited to Shanghai's 2010 Universal Exposition,will be discussing jewelry design. Industrial and Interior Designer Ezequiel Farca,winner of the 2009 International Design Award, the Green Dot Award (Los Angeles, CA), Good Design 2009, and granted an honorific mention in the 2010 Red Dot Design Awards, will talk about industrial design.

Under the motto "Redesign your World", the festival will consist of a total of 12 conferences about design; a Mexican Fiesta; runways for the fashion design competition Rock, Paper, Scissorsand entrance to ExpoDiseño, a simultaneous event in where more than 130 promoters of design such as multimedia design firms, interior and lighting design stores, fashion design and companies of new technologies in graphic communication, will present their work and services, all in an area of over 43,000 square feet.

The exposition area will also include 6 design pavilions (Furniture, Eco, Fashion, Craft, Illumination and Graphic) in where young talent from across the country will feature their innovative projects.

As part of the event, on October the 2nd, DesignFest 2010 will offer four 5-hour workshopsfor twenty attendees each. In them, international designers will share their experience in the development of professional design projects.
