Flying balloons and gigantic letters; this autumn Formex will be boosting your energy levels and lifting your mood in the theme exhibition Happy Home, featuring products designed with a glint in the eye, plenty of pattern and fun colour combinations.

Designer Jan Rundgren is creating this autumn’s theme exhibition, Happy Home, in the Entrance Square. The visitor is invited to take a walk along a path decorated with colourful rugs, which passes between white islands and gigantic letters that from certain angles form the word ‘HAPPY’. The centre of Happy Home features a large, laid long table where the products are flying in a sea of huge balloons. In the exhibition, old and new are contrasted with classic objects verging on the kitsch. There will also be plenty of patterns and colours in fun combinations.

“It’s time to dust off faithful sentiments such as hope and optimism after a year of ash clouds and economic crises. To try and be optimistic about the future despite it all, and brighten up everyday life with cause for rejoicing, be it small or large. Our home décor will have a more relaxed attitude in future. Personal expression will come to the fore. We’ll stop caring so much about what other people think,” says Jan Rundgren.

Formex will take place on 12-15 August 2010 at Stockholm International Fairs. Formex is the meeting place for news, business opportunities, trends, knowledge and inspiration. The fair takes place twice a year, attracting 850 exhibitors, 25,000 professional visitors and 800 media representatives.
