Born in 1949, Paris, France

. graduated from École Nissim de Camondo (Paris),
. founded his first design firm specialized in inflatable objects in 1968,
. became a year after art director of his firm along with Pierre Cardin,
. moved to the United States in 1974
. designed his first nightclub: "La main bleu", Paris in 1976,
. created elegant interiors for the Royalton and Paramount hotels in New York, the Delano in Miami and the Mondrian in Los Angeles
. found the business "Starck Product" in 1979,
. designed the interior for the private apartments of then French President François Mitterrand in 1982,
. worked on the interiors of the Café Manin in Tokyo in 1985,
. created the Juicy Salif for Alessi in 1990,
. participates in construction of the Groningen Museum in 1991,
. created a number of relatively inexpensive product designs for the large American retailer Target Stores in 2002,
. redesigned the train service of Eurostar in 2003,
. designed an optical mouse for Microsoft in 2004,
. lives in four different cities: Paris, New York, Burano (Italy) and London.
